Rodent Wars Part Three…

Small update, no news is good news, well that’s official all soft clothing like gloves, bobble hats  etc… did not make the grade & as such have now been made into black bin fodder…

more paperwork has been thrown out, whilst I am dreading the final count, there has already been one black bin and half a truck load of memories gone off to the local rubbish tip…

two detector shoulder bags, one backpack and contents, spare finds belts and pouches, have all had to be disposed off, I am finding all of this incredibly wasteful, how can this amount of destruction be caused in such a small amount of time, I am quite clean in the shooffice as it is a small space which can become dirty very quickly, and most things inside get moved around regularly, how these mice escaped detection, & evidence of there visits which would have led them to being found is mind boggling, they must have been watching me for a long time while I was in there, I never smelt them, saw any traces of there trademark droppings, nothing, and why was the poison not touched by the mice until much later, I keep going back over the same thoughts trying to see if I missed something, its driving me nuts…

Anyway, I am coming to the end of the third wall now, with more than enough of there droppings being found on the lower shelves and hard surfaces, next we will be moving onto the hard storage boxes, trays, etc…these containers have either coins, or are used for housing the Artefacts and other bits like fossils, these boxes and containers are nothing special being either old ice cream boxes, clear takeaway boxes, old biscuit tins etc… virtually any discarded receptacle would be fair game to holding and storing priced possessions with none or very minimal cost…

It is this area of plastic storage containers that I hope; and it does look possible, that I can use neat disinfectants on the outside of the boxes whilst those that have been exposed, because there never had a top or lid, then these will be submerged in a neat bath of the stuff, hopefully  without any loss of patina, age tone, etc…
